Essential Marketing Strategies

Most business owners approach marketing as a necessary evil, something connected with their business but not really part of it.

Any marketing they do is usually done grudgingly, as cheaply as possible and with little rhyme or reason and precious little planning.

In fact, many a business is conceived and opens its doors with no marketing at all – they rely on the momentum of the business opening and the novelty factor to get their business started.

And while this works for a very short period of time, it’s not a long-term strategy and many a business fades away within the first year of opening its doors, simply because there’s no marketing going on. Once the novelty wears off, the customers stop coming through the door (and building a “better mousetrap” won’t help… because the customers won’t just “come”. You have to entice them in!

Bottom line… not marketing means you’re not getting customers and clients.

Getting no customers and clients means you’re not making any sales.

Not making any sales means you’re not making any money.

Not making any money means… pretty soon… you don’t have  a business any more.

The bottom line is, like it or not, marketing is THE single-most important skill you can learn as a business owner.

And a tried, tested and proven marketing system is the most valuable asset you and your business will ever have, worth more than the people, the plant, the stock and even worth more than any intellectual property you might own.

But none of this happens by accident. Every successful business out there, from the smallest to the largest has a marketing system that’s been built up by a deliberate process of trial and error by one or more people who have taken the time and made the effort to educate themselves and become excellent at marketing.

It’s easy to look at big, successful businesses and make the claim they somehow have it “easy” and have been conferred some special advantage or dispensation. But this is incorrect.

Because every big business was once a small business, and was able to grow and flourish because it was first excellent at marketing, and secondly was excellent at serving it’s customers’ and clients’ needs.

This fundamental truth applies to YOUR business, too. And the sooner you embrace it and begin seeing marketing as the vitally important and primary activity it is, the sooner you’re going to lay the foundations of your own business’s growth.

So on these pages I share with you some of the most effective marketing strategies I know that anyone can begin implementing TODAY, right NOW to increase their profits and set off along the road to extraordinary business success.
